COLUMBIA – The Blythewood boys cross country team turned in a great showing by finishing third at a cold and rainy Mid-State Qualifier last weekend. The boys defeated two teams currently ranked in the top 10 in the state, and advance to the State Championship meet this coming Saturday.
The team was led by senior James Palmer, who finished 5th overall in a time of 16 minutes and 48 seconds. Other top finishers were TJ Kirby (26th, 17:29), Caleb Wilson (28th, 17:30), Amir McCall (34th, 17:42) and Tanner Cierzan (37th, 17:46).
The boys will compete at the State Meet on 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Sandhills Research Center.
