WINNSBORO – Amanda McNulty, host and producer of SCETV’s “Making It Grow” gardening program, attended an afternoon tea at the Fairfield County Historical Society Museum on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Sunny Turner, FC Historical Society Board member, organized the event as a thank you to local garden club members for their years of decorating the house museum for the Annual Christmas Season Open House.  Garden club members from the Anemone Garden Club, Town and Country Garden Club and Winnsboro Garden Club were honored.

McNulty spoke informally with garden club members about local gardening issues while touching on the role of climate change and the effects on our local gardening and food sources.  Garden club members also had the opportunity to speak individually with McNulty with questions related to their gardens.

McNulty’s crew were in town on Tuesday, Dec. 10 to film a segment for “Making It Grow” featuring the historically correct natural decorations featured in the foyer, parlor and dining room of the historic Cathcart-Ketchin House, c. 1830.

“Making It Grow” airs on SCETV at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.  McNulty also writes and records “Horticultural Tips” aired on all SCETV radio stations as well as a regular column for SC Department of Natural Resources “SC Wildlife” magazine.
