BLYTHEWOOD – The South Carolina Department of Commerce is hosting an event at Doko Manor designed to debunk misinformation about supplier diversity certification. This event is free and open to all businesses in South Carolina.
The two-hour event will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Doko Manor (100 Alvina Hagood Circle) in Blythewood.
Supplier diversity certifications serve as proof that your company meets inclusion program requirements, thereby opening the door to business opportunities that may not be available to non-certified suppliers.
Participating in a supplier diversity program offers small business owners the opportunity to expand market share, grow their companies, discover new partners, and create new revenue streams. However, navigating the certification maze and figuring out which certification is right for you can be challenging and confusing.
The panel will debunk the myths around certification and hear directly from the certifying bodies.
The informative panel will include the following:
- Special Guest: Scout Motors
- Carolinas Virginia Minority Supplier Diversity Corporation
- Greater Women’s Business Center
- SC Department of Transportation
- SC Division of Small and Minority Business Contracting and Certification
- U.S. Small Business Administration
- Moderator: Ronald Harvey, VP/Chief Operating Officer with Global Core Strategies & Consulting, LLC
