BHS athletes ink college commitments

BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood Athletic Department celebrated the college decisions of 4 Bengal athletes on Wednesday morning. The seniors of the Class of 2025 will graduate in the spring before taking their talents to the collegiate level.

Kristen Galloway, daughter of Daniel Galloway, announced her signing with McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland to continue her volleyball career. Galloway played four years of varsity volleyball as an outside hitter for Coach Mary Hall and was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Year in both 2021 and 2023.

Alex Myers, son of Kelley and Buzzy Myers, announced his signing with Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina to play baseball. Alex is a 3-time All-Region performer as an infielder, has been the Palmetto Games MVP, was part of a state champion Legion Baseball team, and was a member of a state runner-up Blythewood team in 2023. He is coached by Travis Poole.

Macon Leppert, son of Leslie and Rick Leppert, will attend Gaston College in Dallas, North Carolina and play baseball. Macon has been an All-Region catcher for the Bengals, state runner-up, and Legion Baseball state champion. Macon is coached by Travis Poole.

Avery Pegram, daughter of Stacia and David Pegram, will continue her soccer career at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Avery has played outside back for Coach Alyssa Farris and has been All-State, All-Region three times, 2007 ECNL Player of the Year in 2023, MVP, Coaches Award, First Team All-ECNL in the National League Southwest Conference.

Principal Matt Sherman, Athletic Director Barry Mizzell, and the entire school are proud of these young people and excited to see what they do when their time as a Bengal is done.
