Helen Cooper Nichols, 84, of Ridgeway passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Born in Ridgeway, she was the daughter of the late James Calhoun and Lena Pauline Perry Cooper.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Phyllis Nichols Gutierrez, and Beth Nichols Collins (Brett); two granddaughters, Nicole Collins Hunter (Croom) and Courtney Collins Timms; two great granddaughters, Addison Taylor Collins, and Elizabeth Thomas Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like family.
In addition to her parents, Helen is predeceased by her husband, Phillp W. Nichols; son, Phillip W. Nichols, Jr.; in-laws, Henry and Evelyn Nichols; son-in-law, Francis Max Gutierrez, Jr.; grandson-in-law, Martin Timms; sisters, Vera Urbano, June Rosso, Ann Miller, Isabelle Littleton; brothers, Claudie Cooper, Bert Cooper, Paul Cooper; nieces, Martha Gamache and Linda Cooper; nephews, Bobby and Teddy Cooper.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Ridgeway First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church. Burial will follow in Aimwell Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice Care and especially their nurse, Liz for the compassion and care she gave.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Helen’s memory to Ridgeway First Baptist Church or Fairfield County Council on Aging.
