BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood High School senior Eva Deanne Pendleton has been named a 2024 National Merit Scholarship winner. She will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
The competition drew over 1.3 million high school juniors from more than 21,000 high schools. Pendleton was among 15,000 finalists to be named one of two 2024 National Merit Scholarship winners in Richland School District Two.
Pendleton entered the competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.
Pendleton says she is planning to pursue a career in surgical medicine.
