BLYTHEWOOD – The arrival of August means that fall sports practices are officially underway.
Blythewood High School and Westwood High School football teams will both play Week 0 games.
The Bengals will head off with a home game against district rival Ridge View on Aug. 18. They will travel for their next two games – Aug. 25 at Richland Northeast and Sept. 1 at cross-town rival Westwood. They’ll host Lexington for their week 3 game on Sept. 8 and follow with another home game on Sept. 15 against Goose Creek before their bye week on Sept. 22.
Blythewood will kick off the second half of their season on the road against Fort Mill (Sept. 29). They’ll host Nation Ford on Oct. 6, travel to Clover on Oct. 13, and host Rock Hill for their final home game of the regular season on Oct. 20. They wrap regular-season play at Spring Valley on Oct. 27.
Westwood kicks off the season on Aug. 18 at The Castle against Spring Valley. They travel to Lower Richland on Aug. 25 and return to host cross-town rival Blythewood on Sept. 1 for The Battle of the Ax. They’ll hit the road on Sept. 8 for a game against White Knoll and then will host Midland Valley on Sept. 15. They’ll also take a bye week on Sept. 22.
A.C. Flora will host Westwood on Sept. 29. The Redhawks will play at home against Lugoff-Elgin on Oct. 6, but Ridge View will play host for Westwood on Oct. 13.
The Redhawks will wrap their regular-season schedule with two home games: Irmo on Oct. 20 and Richland Northeast on Oct. 27.
