COLUMBIA – The Blythewood boys cross country team took first place in a six-team meet at the Sandhills course Sept. 18. The varsity team scored 22 points to outpace Pelion (44 points) and Ridge View (76 points). The boys were led by Mike Lantz, who finished first overall with a time of 16:20. Other top performers included TJ Kirby (third in 17:49), Jalen Brown (fifth, 17:56), James Palmer (sixth, 17:57), Brandon Hardwick (seventh, 18:04) and Ben Connor (11th, 18:49). The JV Bengals also finished first overall with a perfect score of 15 points. The JV was led by Chase Corder, who finished 1st overall in 19:53.
The boys of Fairfield Central finished fourth overall and were led by Dequan Weldon with a time of 21:00.
