WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central went big on Friday night during the Homecoming game, shutting out Eau Claire 61-0.
The Griffins put up 34 points in the first quarter and 14 to go up 48-0 at halftime. They added another 13 in the second half. Cameron McMillon completed 8 of 9 passing attempts for 299 yards.
TyDarian Grier had 185 yards on four receptions. Jai Boyd hauled in 99 yards on two receptions. Kensley Copeland had 30 yards on 5 carries. Steven Gadsden had 27 on three carries.
CJ Sampson had 11 tackles and one tackle for loss. Stephano Gadsden tallied 8 tackles, four for loss, and a fumble recovery. JaShaun Manning had 10 tackles on the night and a forced fumble. Jalian Yarborough picked an interception and returned it for a touchdown and tallied six tackles. Amos Bell blocked a Shamrock punt.
Fairfield (6-3, 4-1) will host Newberry on Friday for their final home game of the regular season.
