WINNSBORO – Richard Winn Academy football and volleyball teams got some preseason action in last weekend. The football team faced Providence Athletic Club (PAC) last Saturday at Heathwood Hall’s South Beltline Football Classic. The Eagles topped PAC 14-0 in the jamboree. They will open the season on Aug. 26 in Winnsboro against Laurens Academy.
The volleyball team faced off with Greenwood Christian School, Newberry High School and Clarendon Hall Academy in Friday’s jamboree at Newberry College, hosted by Newberry Academy. The Eagles dropped their first game to Greenwood 0-2, defeated Newberry 2-1 and Clarendon Hall 2-0 to finish the day 2-1. Richard Winn volleyball opened their regular season at Great Falls High School on Wednesday, but scores were not available at press time
