It is imperative that Richland 2 release the social-media posting of the freshman at Blythewood High School who was the subject (target) of a two-page apology by the District and the letter from the principal. How can the public have a conversation about racism, when it knows how the District will react? Students, teachers and staff will keep their opinions to themselves, if they know they will face discipline for their views and actions.
What was the content of the social-media posting? Didn’t the school sponsor or approve Spirit Week? Who chose black for the class color for freshmen?
There is no reason why the District should not have published the tweet.
