BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood Physical Therapy is celebrating its eighth anniversary on Friday, July 12 with cake and punch from 12 – 1. During the last eight years, the staff has provided physical therapy services for over 6,700 new patients and administered over 86,000 treatments to residents of Blythewood and the surrounding communities.
“We provide the most updated physical therapy technique and procedures for patients with neurological, orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems,” owner Bruce Filler said.
When Filler opened Blythewood Physical Therapy in McNulty Plaza in July 2011, he was the only physical therapist on duty to treat the location’s first patients. Serving the community is how he grew his business, Filler said.
Today, Filler has nine employees at his Blythewood office who treat 40-50 patients per day, but in a new McNulty Plaza space that is double the size of the first one.
Filler said Blythewood Physical Therapy can treat patients on a doctor’s referral or patients can be treated for up to 30 days without a doctor’s referral.
“We are locally and privately owned,” Filler said. “We are not a chain physical therapy company, and we do not provide group physical therapy. We only provide individual, one-on-one therapy for our patients.
“If the need for physical therapy should arise, patients can tell their physicians that they prefer to go to Blythewood Physical Therapy for personal care and professional services,” Filler said.
With the new space and a variety of therapy specialists, including two therapists certified in the McKensie technique for back pain, Brian Gray, the facility’s physical therapist supervisor, said his staff can handle just about every physical therapy need.
Blythewood Physical Therapy offers dry needling, Primal Reflex Release Technique, Graston, Kinesiotaping, work reconditioning as well as therapy for orthopedic, neurological, arthritis, TMJ, vestibular/balance problems, auto accident injuries, sports injuries and work related injuries.
“Our goal is to help keep Blythewood healthy and active,” Filler said.
