WINNSBORO – Sylvanie Johnson (above) attacks with a strong forehand stroke in her win against a Newberry opponent. Cherise Trapp, Krishayla Boyd, Janelle Green, and Ashanti Thompson each also picked up wins for the Griffins last Tuesday night in a conference matchup with Newberry High School. Jacia Green and Alaina Hopkins capped off the 6-0 victory with an easy win in doubles competition.
With Sept. 11 and Sept. 13 matches against Keenan and Camden rescheduled because of Hurricane Florence, the Lady Griffins will host the Chester High School Cyclones next on Sept. 20 in their first meeting of the season. They currently boast a 5-1 record.
