WINNSBORO – The Richard Winn Lady Eagles finished 14-5 on the regular season, and freshman Forward Taylor Spires was one of the Eagles pillars of consistency in the low-post. Spires dominated the glass all season and ended the regular season with 12.5 rebounds per game, good enough for eight in the state. Spires pulled down the third most total rebounds this season with 237 and she led all freshman.
Spires was not the only talented athlete to make her presence felt down low. Dominant Fairfield Central Junior Cristin Gray netted 3.1 blocks per game, and that was good enough to secure the last spot in the top 20. Gray swatted 61 shot attempts in just 20 games.
