COLUMBIA – The Richard Winn Cross Country crew traveled to Heathwood Hall this weekend to participate in the SCISA 5K State Championships. Hudson Wade clocked the Eagles’ highest finish the event with a tenth place finish, and the boys’ team clocked in at ninth place.
Sean McCallum of Newberry Academy claimed the individual championship, followed by William Briggs of Wardlaw Academy and Lawson Logan of Holy Trinity to round out the top three. Covenant Christian claimed the overall title, with Holy Trinity and Wardlaw finishing on their heels.
Richard Winn’s Hannah Gibbons claimed a team best finish at the 23-spot for the ladies. Langehans Mills of Holy Trinity took the top spot on the ladies’ side, followed by Quarles Blair of Laurens Academy and Agudzi-Addo Lizzy of Covenant Christian.
Holy Trinity Christian took the overall top spot, with Laurens finishing in a close second and James Island Christian came in on their heels at third.
