On behalf of the Blair Coalition of Churches, I would like to thank everyone who joined us for Blair Family Day, Saturday, April 25th. The parade was led by youth carrying the organization’s banner, Fairfield Central High School Color Guard and Grand Marshalls, Rev. David Brown and Mr. Elijah Martin. Coalition members, public officials, politicians, car enthusiast, dancers, band and a wide array of vehicles wowed the crowd as they wove their way from Gethsemane Baptist Church to the Willie Lee Robinson Park.
Free food fun and fellowship awaited everyone after the parade. Thanks to our generous donors, businesses, health organizations and clubs we were able to share information, host bouncy house entertainment for the children and provide public conveniences.
Community support is key to our success. I am grateful for our Coalition churches: Gethsemane Baptist, Hassion Hill Baptist, Little River Presbyterian, Old Hope Station Baptist, St. Matthews Baptist II, St. Peter Community, The Rock, Weeping Mary Baptist and Zion Hopewell Baptist as well as the Thompson Sisters. They show love and commitment to our community in immeasurable ways.
