Bengals clean up The Wood

BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood High School Bengal Battalion cadets held their second roadside clean-up event this past Saturday. Over fifty cadets picked up trash from Blythewood Road to Farrow Road. WINNSBORO – The Fairfield community organization Believers and Achievers presented plaques to Abigail Hutson-Smith, left, and Le’Aundre Martin, right, for their journalistic work with the Fairfield County School District’s newspaper, The Fairfield Post. Hutson-Smith and Martin were named Outstanding Journalists of the Semester. 

Griffins Challenge

WINNSBORO – Competing virtually has not stopped Fairfield Central’s Academic Challenge team from excelling. In January, the team defeated Chester 15-7 and Lewisville 15-14. Most recently, the Griffins took a 18-16 victory over Great Falls.

Mighty Griffins

WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central’s Mighty Griffin Battalion JROTC program competed in the JROTC Academic Bowl. The JROTC Academic Bowl tests cadets on their knowledge by using SAT/ACT-type questions in the areas of JROTC curriculum, English, math and science. The Griffins advanced to the Level 2 of the competition, to be held March 4.
