Kenny McLean of Blythewood shows off his baby blue and white 1965 Ford Mustang convertible GT last Saturday at the Pig on the Ridge barbecue festival in Ridgeway. Almost 100 classic cars and trucks were on display before forming a parade down Dogwood Avenue.

Blythewood’s Wade Dorsey stands next to the gravestone of one of his ancestors, Dr. Samuel Wingard Bookhart, a founding father of the Town. Dorsey was one of several guides who conducted tours of gravestones in the Sandy Level Baptist Church cemetery Sunday afternoon, relating the stories of those Blythewood pioneers who now rest there.

Chamber Champions –

Winners of the 2nd Annual Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce golf tournament are Bryson Pope, Rick Engle, Jim Wagers and Tony Pope, members of the Winnsboro Petroleum team. Twelve teams of four players each participated in the tournament that was held at Wildewood Country Club to raise funds for the Chamber’s scholarship fund.

Elizabeth ‘Liza’ Hunter, a junior at Blythewood High School, was crowned Miss Blythewood Teen South Carolina on Saturday evening at the Blythewood High School Auditorium.
