COLUMBIA – The 10th Blythewood boys cross country team finished second in a very competitive Region IV-4A championship meet Oct. 23. Seventh ranked Dutch Fork won the race with a score of 35 points with the Bengals close behind with a score of 42 points.
The boys were led by senior James Palmer, who earned All-Region honors by placing second overall in 16 minutes and 33 seconds. Also earning All-Region honors were TJ Kirby (fourth, 16:40) and Amir McCall (fifth, 16:43). Finishing out the scoring for Blythewood was Caleb Wilson (13th, 17:23) and Brandon Hardwick (18th, 17:36). The JV team finished first overall, and they were led by senior Devin Lowry, who finished second overall in a time of 18:06. The Bengals next race will be the Mid-State Qualifier on Nov. 1.
