BLYTHEWOOD – Richard Winn’s cross country team competed at Westwood High School on Sept. 4 against a few SCHSL 5A running powerhouses – namely Westwood & Blythewood High Schools.
Without enough runners (5) to register a team score the Eagle girls were unable to compete as a team, but standout Hayden Branham finished in the mix of Westwood and Blythewood’s top runners.
Branham, an eighth grader, took in fifth place out of 65 runners at the 21:13 mark. Westwood’s Emma Ashley had the fastest time on the day at 20:03.
Ninth graders Addison Trapp finished at 33:01, and Meghan Guzzi finished at 36:44.
The boys’ team finished in fifth out place. Colin Davis was the top Eagle runner with a time of 23:02 for 38th place out of 72 runners. Colton Tanktersley finished at 24:13. Liam Fleischer and Carson Taylor followed at 24:35 and 25:17. Hud McLean rounded out the Eagles’ top five runners at 25:35.
The Eagles are set to compete at York High School this afternoon.
