SPARTANBURG – Richard Winn football hit the road to open their 2024-2025 season last Friday. The trip to Spartanburg did not deter the Eagles, who came away from Oakbrook Prep with a 64-18 win.

Richard Winn dominated on both sides of the ball from opening kickoff, leading 29-0 after a quarter of play. They extended the lead to 51-6 by halftime.

Oakbrook managed two scores in the second half, but the Eagles matched those to hold on for the 46-point win.

The Eagles (1-0) now prep for their first home game of the season, also their first of the season against Newberry Academy.

Because teams are limited in the SCISA 8-Man Region I, schools will play each team twice, but only the second game will count as a region contest.

Newberry (0-1) enters Friday’s game following a 42-25 loss to Laurens Academy.
