Town Names Layman Director of Doko Manor and Park
BLYTHEWOOD – Interim Town Administrator Daniel Stines announced at the June 22 council meeting that Fred Layman of Blythewood has been named event director of Doko Manor and Park.
“Fred Layman is a results focused leader offering the broad scope of public and private sector experience,” Stines said in introducing Layman at the meeting. “His experience specializes in facility management and promotion, budget development, administration, sales and marketing policy development, and contract development.”
Stines said Layman’s employment background includes general manager of the Windermere Club, North Augusta Country Club and Event Center as well as the Mount Vintage Athletic Club.
“He has an extensive entrepreneurial background and his formal education is in business administration,” Stines said.
Layman, who has lived in Blythewood for seven years, said he and his family have been welcomed.
“We live, eat and breathe Doko Manor Park,” he said. “We love it. As I embark on this new journey in my career, I bring a background with me that spans both public and private sectors. I believe this unique perspective will allow me to serve as a bridge connecting multiple aspects of the community and helping to shape the future of our fantastic facilities. I see this role as an opportunity to contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of Blythewood.
“I’m eager to work with all stakeholders to assure the Manor and Doko Park remain a beacon of excellence,” Layman said. He said he’s looking forward to and is truly dedicated to the task at hand.
