Sloan named EMS Director

FAIRFIELD COUNTY – Daniel Sloan was recently named Fairfield County’s Emergency Services Director.

Sloan has served Fairfield County for over 12 years.  Joining Fairfield County EMS in 2010, he has served in every capacity beginning with EMT, earning his Paramedic certification in 2013, and being promoted to shift supervisor in 2016. 

In 2021 Sloan took over as the Deputy Director/Training Officer. In his new position, Sloan was tasked with developing a quality training program, and modifying operations for the service to function safely during the COVID pandemic.

Before joining Fairfield County EMS, Sloan served in the U.S. Army for 15 years.  He earned the rank of Sergeant First Class performing duties as a Cavalry Scout, and a Drill Sergeant. During his service, he was stationed in Germany, and Fort Jackson, SC, with combat deployments to Bosnia, and Iraq.

Sloan is an instructor in CPR, Basic First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Emergency Medical Responder, and Advanced Medical Life support.  He serves on the Fairfield County water rescue team and sits on the Stroke Advisory committee.
