Lady Bengals fall to Mauldin in round 2

BLYTHEWOOD – The Blythewood Lady Bengals volleyball squad rolled through their first round match-up over Northwestern in straight sets. The Bengals scrapped by 26-24 in the first set, 25-17 in the second and 25-19 in the final set. Their run came to an end on Tuesday night after a 3-0 loss to Mauldin. Mauldin edged the Bengals out 25-19 in the first set, 25-14 in the second and 25-17 in the final set.

Though the season is over, post season accolades have begun to roll in for the Bengals. Maya Walker earned North/South All-Star honors. Colleen Finney was named Region 4-5A Player of the Year, as well earning an All-State and All-Region spot. Brooke Thomas also earned All-State and All-Region selections. Sklyer Anton also represented the Bengals in the slew of All-Region selections, and Coach Mary Hall was bestowed Region 4-5A Coach of the Year honors.
