COLUMBIA – Both the girls and boys cross country teams from Blythewood and Westwood qualified for a place in the State Championship, but neither the Redhawks nor the Bengals fared too well. Neither ladies team placed in the top. The Redhawk boys finished at the 19 spot on the 4A side, while the Bengal boys came in at 17 among 5A programs.The Redhawk ladies also earned a 17-place finish.
Alan Deogracis finished highest among all Blythewood runners. His time of 16:27 was good enough to lock up the 14-spot overall. Morgan Simmonds was the fastest Bengal lady with her time of 20:12.
Paul McCants took the top for the Redhawk gentleman with a time of 17:26, and Alanie Foster led the way for the ladies with a 19:58 finish.
