BLYTHEWOOD – Westwood’s baseball team (8-4, 3-2 Region 5-5A) put together another good week beating Dreher 14-8 Thursday and Spring Valley 7-3 Tuesday night.
Against the Blue Devils, Austin Jeffcoat got the win after 3 2/3 innings on the mound, giving up four hits and striking out nine. The Redhawks led 13-3 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. Jeffcoat also had two hits, including a double. Kellen Moore doubled and drove in three runs. Blaize Owen and Zachary Nelson also doubled, and Nathan Caldwell had two hits.
Against the Vikings, Gabriel Espinosa pitched a complete-game 6-hitter. Jayden Quarles went 3-for-3 with a double and Caldwell had two hits.
