BLYTHEWOOD – The Westwood’s baseball team suffered three straight losses over the past week, falling 13-3 at Spring Valley Thursday, 15-3 against Airport Friday, and 13-6 at Lugoff-Elgin Tuesday night.
Zachary Nelson had two hits, including a double, against the Vikings.
Nathan Caldwell went 3-for-3 with a double, Xavier DeJesus went 2-for-3, and Jayden Quarles doubled and had three stolen bases against Airport.
Kellen Moore had two hits including a double against Lugoff-Elgin. Nelson, Caldwell and Quarles had two hits apiece. Austin Jeffcoat doubled.
The Redhawks (8-7, 3-4 Region 5-5A) play host to Lugoff-Elgin tonight.
The Westwood softball team (5-12, 3-2) Beat Spring Valley 16-6 Thursday, but fell 10-8 at Lugoff-Elgin Tuesday.
Pettway Carolina scattered seven hits over three innings to get the win for Westwood over the Vikings. Azaria Belton had three hits including a double, and drove in two runs. Nayanna Shannon went 2-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI. Izzy Ridgeway, Annarea Wilson, and Madison Belton each had two hits. Jordin Hammett had a double.
Against the Demons, Ella Griffin went 2-for-3 and Hammett doubled.
Westwood plays host to Lugoff-Elgin Tonight.
