WINNSBORO – Fairfield Central’s double-header against Columbia on Monday went just as they wanted – two wins in dominant fashion.
The Griffins ran all over the Capitals in game one. Graeme Douglas and T Wilcox both hit inside-the-park homeruns. Douglas and Kaden Diggs both doubled. The game ended in the bottom of the fourth with the Griffins up 10-0. Game two was more of the same as the Griffins downed Columbia 12-2 in three innings.
The Griffins outmatched the Capitals in base running in both games – 7 stolen bases in the first game and 10 in the second.
The Griffins were slated to play at Dreher tonight, but the score was not available prior to The Voice’s press deadline.
They will host Eau Claire Friday for a 6 p.m. game.
