Billie Duensing Wofford, 78, of Blythewood, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, on December 17, 1946, she was a daughter of the late E.W. “Bill” Duensing and Mary Campbell Duensing. Mrs. Wofford spent her career as a registered nurse, beginning as soon as her graduation and until her retirement in 2008. She was a longtime member of Sandy Level Baptist Church where she enjoyed being active in numerous groups serving within the church. In her spare time, she loved being Nana and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needle point sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert (Herb) Wofford; sons, Chris (Alice) Wofford, Scott Wofford; grandchildren, Harrison Wofford (Corrie), Donovan Wofford, Olivia Wofford, Laura Wofford; brother, Craig Duensing (Jane); nephews and nieces, A.J. Wolgast, Bryan Dunsing (Casey), Rebecca Norberg (Alex); and a host of friends, cousins and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Georgia Duensing.
The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation to Sandy Level Baptist Church members for their unwavering support and concern, as well as to Interim Health Hospice for their care and support during Mrs. Wofford’s decline in health.
The graveside service for Mrs. Wofford was held at 2 o’clock, Thursday, March 13th, at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Road, Blythewood. The family received friends in the church fellowship hall prior to the service beginning at 1 o’clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
