Bengal girls move to 3-0 in region play

BLYTHEWOOD – With shutout wins over Lugoff-Elgin this week and Spring Valley last week, Blythewood’s girls soccer team moves to 3-0 in region play.

The Bengals downed Lugoff- Elgin 6-0 on Tuesday with goals from five players.

Sophomore Regan Flynn had two goals and an assists. Mia Hendry scored one and had two assists. Cassidy Haddock, Amiyah Watts and Ayres Ava had a goal each. Mayla Wolf had one assist.

Keeper Tiyanna Mack had four saves on the night for the shutout win.

On March 14, Blythewood beat Spring Valley 2-0. Flynn and Ava had one goal each. Haddock had an assist.

The Bengals picked up their first region win on March 11 against Westwood, 10-0. Goals came from Ava (3), Josie Woodley (2), Avery Pegram (2), Caroline Powell, Flynn, and Watts.

Blythewood (7-1-1) picked up their only loss on the season last week at Lexington with a 2-1 final. Hendry had the team’s solo goal.

The Bengals will travel to West Florence on Friday.
