BLYTHEWOOD – Amari Alexander scored 22 points and Aneya Britt added 18 points as the Westwood girls basketball team cruised past Lugoff-Elgin 66-23 Friday.
The win broke a 3-game losing streak.
The Redhawks (11-14, 5-6 Region 5-5A) followed up on that victory with an 81-20 win at West Florence Tuesday night. Westwood led 43-5 at the half.
Lyric Rogers scored 24 points, Thanna Davis added 14 points, and Alexander put up 10 points to lead Westwood over the Knights (2-17, 1-9).
The girls are currently in fourth place in the region.
The Westwood boys (15-7, 3-7) fell 50-47 in overtime to Lugoff-Elgin Friday. They played West Florence (1-19. -0-11) Tuesday night.
The boys team was in fifth place in the region going into Tuesday’s game.
Westwood closes the regular season against Sumter on Senior Night Friday.
