An excerpt on Woods from the Fairfield County Genealogy Society about Rev. Eddie Woods:

Reverend Woods started out with a rocky childhood, growing up as a poor black child in Ridgeway. He turned his life around and became a minister, author, and leader in the communities that he serves.

Reverend Woods started the Give Me Five Ministry where he ministers on the basketball courts in an Edgewood park each Sunday. Woods has also put together a group called Stop the Violence, which he organized to conduct marches and voice concerns about violence in local neighborhoods.

Woods has written several books discussing his childhood obstacles in Fairfield County and his second chance at a new and rewarding life.
