WINNSBORO – With an 11-9 record and a trip to the semifinals, Richard Winn girls basketball coach Joe Pitt says exciting times are ahead for his program.
With a team comprised of one junior, three sophomores, two freshmen and two middle school students, the Eagles embraced their youth.
“They bought in and worked hard,” he said. “They improved throughout the season and were a pleasure to coach.”
The team finished second in the region and in the top-four teams in SCISA 1A.
The Eagles had two all-region selections in junior Abby Lewis and sophomore Haley Autry.
Lewis and sophomore Mary Margaret Swearingen earned Region All-Tournament honors.
Eighth-grader Charlotte Lewis was named to the state tournament All-Tournament team.
Abby Lewis, Autry and Swearingen will play in the SCISA 1A All-Star game
