WINNSBORO – The Town of Winnsboro celebrated improvements to Friendship Park with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Feb. 21 on the newly renovated basketball court.
Cutting the ribbon are Town Councilman Demitrius Chatman, left, Winnsboro Mayor John McMeekin, Friendship Park advocate Heyward Banks and House Rep. Annie McDaniel. Other officials present are Sheriff Will Montgomery (in back), and, to his right, Winnsboro Town Manager Chris Clauson, and Chamber of Commerce President Dillon Pullen.
The improvements were funded by a $54,886.28 Parks and Recreation Development Grant from South Carolina. Friendship Park is located at 309 Frazier St. in Winnsboro.
