BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood High School’s girls’ tennis team finished the regular season with a 15-4 record and a ranking of 12th out of 52 teams in the 5A SCHSL classification. State playoffs began on Oct. 31, but Blythewood’s #2 seeding gave them a bye for the first round.
Their first playoff action was against Rock Hill on Monday, Nov. 5, and the Bengals defeated the Bearcats 6-0 to advance in the single-elimination tournament.
Now just three wins away from a state title, Blythewood will face the winner of Spartanburg/Wade Hampton tonight on their home court. A win will advance the Bengals to a semi-final match on Nov. 12 against the winner of River Bluff/Lexington.
