COLUMBIA – Moving up to 5A classification has not deterred the Redhawk volleyball team. Spring Valley is the most recent victim of the Redhawks (13-6), who have now moved to 9-0 in region play.
Westwood downed the Vikings 3-1 on Tuesday. They battled through the first set to take the 31-29 win, then followed with a 26-24 win to go up 2-0. Spring Valley took set three with a 25-22 final, but Westwood shut down the match with a 25-20 win in set four.
Westwood will host Lugoff-Elgin tonight. Next week they will travel to West Florence, then host Sumter on Oct. 17.
