BLYTHEWOOD – The Trinity United Methodist Church Hill Climbers’ monthly luncheon in November will be more than an entertainment event. It will be a joint effort between the Hill Climbers and the United Methodist Committee on Relief to gather specific supplies for North and South Carolina hurricane relief.
“Our November luncheon will be a hurricane relief fundraiser,” said church member Julie Imholz. “Trinity is serving as a hub for collecting much needed supplies for hurricane relief in both North and South Carolina, and we’re dedicating our November luncheon to not only offering a delicious meal and special entertainment, but we are asking the community to join us with donations for the relief fund.”
The luncheon will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Youth Building, located on the campus of Trinity UMC (90 Boney Rd) in Blythewood. The cost for a baked chicken meal is $10 at the door. All adults in the community are encouraged to attend this important event. Those attending are welcome to bring desserts.
To assure enough food is provided, those attending are asked to notify Elaine at 803-517-9381 or email her at elainestes1948@gmail.com by Nov. 2. Those bringing desserts are also asked to notify Elaine.
Luncheon entertainment will be provided by Stephen Craps and the Eternal Harmony Trio
Donations can be brought to the luncheon or dropped off outside the church social hall, Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Donation of the following specific items are requested: bottled water, gallon jugs of water, diapers, baby food, pre-mixed formula, and wipes.
Specific items are also requested for Flood Mud Buckets. These are to be brought to the Nov. 5 lunch ONLY:
- Liquid detergent (32-64 oz)
- Household cleaner (16-40 oz, no spray bottles)
- Liquid dish soap (16-34 oz)
- Air freshener (4-8 oz pump spray)
- Insect repellent (6-14 oz pump or pack of wipes)
