Sandra DuBard Jones

Sandra DuBard Jones, 81, of Blythewood, died on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, on February 7, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Willard and Tatiana Dimitrinovna Yartzeff DuBard. Mrs. Jones grew up in the Cedar Creek Community and was active in 4-H, raised dairy calves and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1961. She later graduated from USC with a B.S in Nursing in 1965. Throughout her career she worked for Providence Hospital, Dr. Caughman’s Pediatrics office as well as the Director of Nursing for the Council on Aging of Fairfield County.

As a founding member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, she served in many capacities including church pianist, Sunday School Teacher, and as a part of the Fruitbearers and Dorcas Class. Mrs. Jones was also a member of the Cedar Creek Landowners Association, and the Secretary for the Cedar Creek Historical Society.

Survivors include her husband, William Clarence (Bill) Jones; son, William Joseph Jones (Amanda); daughter, Caroline Jones McKay; grandchildren, Phoebe Ellen Jones, Ezra Zachariah Jones and Raymond Joseph (RJ) McKay; and sister, Gwen Kaiser (Carl); as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jones was held at 3 o’clock, Wednesday, October 30th, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1920 Cedar Creek Rd, Blythewood, SC. The family received friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 2 o’clock. Burial in Cedar Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery was private. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation to the Prisma Hospice Staff as well as Solutions for Living at Home Team for their compassion and care to Mrs. Jones in recent months.
