WINNSBORO – ALL ABOARD! Next stop: River City, Iowa as Pine Tree Playhouse presents critically acclaimed Broadway Classic ‘The Music Man’.
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian.
Lead director is Shane Moody, and Lisa Sellers is co-director. Music directors are Lisa Cathcart and Thomas Few.
The show will run for the first two weekends of October. Catch an 8 p.m. show on Friday, Oct. 4, Saturday, Oct. 5, Friday, Oct. 11, or Saturday, Oct. 12. Afternoon matinees will show on Sunday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.
