This past weekend was a difficult few days for our state. As we move through recovery mode, the Palmetto Trail has a few important announcements. There was significant damage across South Carolina which has led us to make some tough, but necessary decisions. Due to the extensive amount of damage from the storm, the entire Palmetto Trail will be closed until further notice. Our team is working hard to assess the trail and restore what the storm has damaged.
Your safety on the Palmetto Trail is our top priority so until there is an announcement, please do not go out on any of the Palmetto Trail passages.
Further, because of the trail closure, we have to regretfully announce that the True to the Brew Half Marathon has been postponed to a later date. We will be able to set a new date for the race after further assessment of the damage. Lastly, the Palmetto Trail’s 30th Anniversary event has also been postponed. We would like to use this time to turn our help to our community as we recover from the weekend’s hardships. We will be announcing the new event date as soon as possible.
We understand there was a lot of excitement regarding both of these events and apologize for the inconvenience. This is an unfortunate circumstance, and our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the storm.
