High Pressure should stay in control for much of Thursday before an upper-level trough starts to work into the area. The situation will begin slowly changing Thursday afternoon as moisture begins returning to the area with a slight chance of some mid and late afternoon showers. With northeasterly winds, temperatures will remain several degrees below normal.
Our next weather maker, that upper-level trough mentioned above, will bring back chances of showers late tonight and through the first half of the weekend. At the surface weak low pressure will be over the region Friday into Saturday as moisture from the Gulf moves through the southeastern United States. The question remains on how far north the moisture makes it. If it pushes further north, we could see more rain, if it stays further south, we will keep the cloud cover, but see less rainfall. All in all, expect to get anywhere from a half inch to an inch of rain through Saturday.
High pressure regains control into Sunday, and we see a gradual clearing and warming trend.
