WINNSBORO – Two busses of senior citizens will be heading to the State Fair Oct. 16 for a big day visiting exhibits, eating elephant ears and enjoying all that the fair offers.
And it’s all thanks to Darreyl Davis, the Prime Tyme Riders motorcycle club, the Fairfield County School District, and the Fairfield County Council on Aging.
“We’re going to have a great time,” said Davis who organized the trip. “The school district is providing two activity buses and each holds about 40 people. We’re more than half full and the deadline to sign up is next Wednesday, Oct. 2.”
The cost is $10 per person, which reserves a seat on the bus and a ticket to the fair.
“Seniors who would like to go should be at the Fairfield County Council on Aging building (210 E. Washington St. in Winnsboro) at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 16,” Davis said, “and the bus will pull out for the fair at 10 a.m. Sheriff Will Montgomery and I will be accompanying the seniors.”
The $10 must be paid in advance to hold a seat.
