Fairfield Co. Arts Council Juried ‘Still Life’ show set for Sept 13

The Rectory at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 203 Garden St., will host the Fairfield County Arts Council opening reception for the juried show “Still Life” on Friday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m.

Elkins

Tonie Elkins, award winning artist will judge the show. Elkins has won over 160 national awards, including Best-of-Show Alaska Watercolor and Best-of-Show San Diego Watercolor. In 1999, Governor Hodges awarded Elkins the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Award for Outstanding contributions to South Carolina Art. Additionally, Elkins is a member of sixteen societies including Watercolor USA Honor Society and National Watercolor Society.

The Fairfield County Arts Council’s quarterly shows provide the community an opportunity to discover new artists, visit with artists and enjoy catching up with your neighbors. It can also be an opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping for someone special on your list this year.

The Rectory at St. John’s Episcopal Church now serves as a venue to brings artists, musicians and writers together to share and explore their gifts with the community as appropriate to the mission of St. John’s and the size of The Rectory.
