High Pressure remains locked in place for Thursday keeping us hot and humid. But a pattern shift will start to take shape on Friday as the upper-level ridge starts to shift to the south.
This weekend, a large trough will pass north of the area. This will spark the opportunity of afternoon showers and thunderstorms for the weekend. A more substantial cold front will work into the area heading into Labor Day. This could bring us better opportunities of rain and storms. Maybe even a severe weather risk for Labor Day. Lingering showers and storms could continue into Tuesday and Wednesday, but trending cooler.
