Williams resigns as Fairfield County Deputy Admin

Williams

WINNSBORO – Interim County Administrator Clay Killian announced in an email Tuesday afternoon to council members that Deputy Administrator Synithia Williams has submitted her resignation effective Aug. 29.

Killian said Williams will now be the Director of Community Planning and Development for Richland County.

“While I certainly am disappointed that she will be leaving our organization, I am sure you will join me in wishing her all the best in her new position,” Killian wrote.

Williams started work at Fairfield County on Feb. 7, 2022. She was hired by then County Administrator Malik Whitaker to be the assistant county administrator. However, Whitaker said her primary responsibility would be to serve as the county’s public information officer.

She was named deputy administrator in 2022.

Prior to coming to Fairfield, Williams served as the storm water general manager for Richland County’s Public Works Department.
