Richard Winn XC hits the trail

LANCASTER – Richard Winn’s cross country standout Hayden Branham found herself in a familiar spot at Lancaster High School’s scrimmage last week – first place.  

Branham, an eighth grader, finished at the 23:01.40 mark, taking the top spot out of 24 runners. Ada Bass followed Branham for a fifth place finish at 26:41.90, and Lillian Trapp finished in seventh place at 27:29. Addison Trapp (35:46.10) and Meghan Guzzi (39:23/50) rounded out the Eagle girls’ scores. The team finished in second place out of three teams.

The Eagle boys, who also finsihd in second, were led by Colton Tankersley, who placed 13th at 25:42.80. Liam Fleischer came in 14th at 25:54.70. Michael Sanders (26.43.40) and Hud McLean (26:51) finished 18th and 19th respectively. Carson Taylor finished at 28:18.50 and Gable Cahoon came in at 31.57.50.

The Eagles are set to run again at Westwood High School on Sept. 4.
