BLYTHEWOOD – Blythewood High School golfer Caroline Hawkins claimed medalist honors during the Lady Bengal Invitational earlier this week. Hawkins, a junior, shot a 136 in the two-day event, which was held at Columbia Country Club on Monday, Aug. 19 and Tuesday, Aug. 20.
A.C. Flora’s Merrit Barbrey, a junior, and senior Claire Green of May River both finished second with 143.
The Bengals finished the tournament in eighth out of 17 teams. They shot 715, finishing just behind South Aiken (703) and ahead of AC Flora (742). May River won the tournament at +16 (612). Chapin finished second (+24), Lexington finished third (+32) and River Bluff finished fourth (+37).
