MYRTLE BEACH – Blythewood High School junior Caroline Hawkins added more hardware to her trophy case last month as she claimed the WSCGA Junior Girls Championship title.
Hawkins finished the three-day tournament 7-under par with a 209 gross score. Hawkins shot 71 the first day with four birdies, then 68 the second with four birdies again, and 70 with three birdies the final day.
Hawkins outshot Claire Green, who finished in second, by 13 strokes. Green finished 6 over par.
Taking home individual titles is not something that’s new to Hawkins. She finished the 2023-2024 golf season at Blythewood High School with an individual 5A state title.
The then-sophomore shot a 5-under par 68 on the Par-73 course Monday, then followed up Tuesday with a 6-under 67 to finish the 5A state girls’ golf tournament with a 135 and her second straight individual golf championship.
