WINNSBORO – The Rectory at St. John’s Episcopal Church will host the Fairfield County Arts Council opening reception for the juried show “Motions” on Friday June 14 at 5 p.m. The juried show will feature artists interpreting work within the theme of motion.
Robert Matheson, a professional artist working and living in Newberry, will judge the show.
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Matheson discovered Newberry on a trip east and was drawn to this developing arts community. Working for 17 years in graphic design, Matheson now works full time as a painter, photographer and community activist for the arts.
His goal is to “raise the happiness, health and well-being of others through the arts”.
The Fairfield County Arts Council’s quarterly shows provide the community an opportunity to discover new artists, visit with the artists, and enjoy catching up with neighbors.
The Rectory at St. John’s Episcopal Church now serves as a venue to bring artists, musicians and writers together to share and explore their gifts with the community as appropriate to the mission of St. John’s and the size of The Rectory.
