Don’t miss Fairfield County’s Ag + Art tour this weekend

A Fun-Filled and Memorable Experience for the Whole Family

FAIRFIELD CO. – The Fairfield Farmers & Artisans Market is one of 10 sites that will be featured on this weekend’s Fairfield Ag+Art Farm Tour. The tour will include working farms and their produce as well featuring local artisans – including painters, potters, weavers, musicians, woodcarvers, bakers and others – at each farm site.

The Tour is set for Saturday and Sunday, June 15 & 16.

Now in its 13th year, the Ag + Art Tour is a free, self-guided farm tour where visitors can learn about where their food and fiber products come from while enjoying the creativity and entertainment of local artisans featured at the farm sites.

Each farm will offer something different – chickens, goats, and other livestock – as well a variety of local artisan products. For purposes of the tour, artisans are defined as those who hand-craft products without using kits or commercial models and whose primary components are not manufactured.

“One of our goals has been to give people a better knowledge of what is produced in the countryside of their county and help them to support local farm and artisan businesses while making healthier food choices,” said Fairfield’s Ag & Art Tour organizer Jamie Vain. “This event does that by putting food and products with a face.”

The sites are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise specified.

Maps and other information for all the farms will be available at each farm site. So, pack up the camera, the kids and footwear for farm touring, and head on out to the Fairfield countyside this weekend for an enjoyable and memorable family-fun experience at these farms:
